2013 is the year of the snake and we're celebrating early with some fun Chinese New Year projects. Art + Speech and Language Pathology = DREAM JOB!!! So thankful that both my parents got to see me start my new career path. Let the journey begin!

Funky Chunky Hats!
The other day I came home and declared that I wasn't going to buy any more yarn until I finished up what I had. That resolution lasted for two days until I broke down and bought a sack FULL of yarn. Here is just some of the outcome from that purchase.
Helping Hand
The other day there was a knock on our door and when I asked, "Who is there?" the reply was, "It's me!" :) The "me" was our sweet little neighbor coming over to visit. Long story short... he found our yarn and decided he needed a hat, so we made him one... simple as that.

Tunisian Dish Towel
We made the coolest dish towel the other day! And we made it using the coolest stitch. It's tunisian crochet and it makes tight little stitches perfect for a dish towel. All these fun crocheted towels are making dish washing all the more "fun"??? Here is a great tutorial if you want to try this stitch. It takes a little more time, but we think the results are worth it.
HNY!!!
My 28th Bday was December 31st and to celebrate my mom and I
had an Iron Chef cook-off! Well, not exactly,
but that's what we called it anyway. We
actually made two recipes from Ina Garten... her Pain Perdu and her Salted Caramel Ice Cream. We were going for a
sugar coma rather than a drunken oblivion this year (although I do admit that we did
enjoy a Landshark). My mom and
I have really embraced Ina this year and I think it's because my dad would
always joke with us about Ina. We
love her though, so we decided to celebrate the end of the year with her
recipes and some fun memories. So with
that said, here is a picture of our Pain Perdu for two and caramel before it turned into ice cream goodness!

Santa's Sweat Shoppe!
If you missed the event this year at The Empty Space, here are some pictures of what we had. Some of the items we got back, some we didn't, and some of the pictures we took are horrible. Maybe photography lessons this year???
