We love crafts swaps and my dear friend, Angela, introduced us to a fun group that loves swaps too. We sent out two heart shaped embellished pillows and in return got a beautiful detailed quilled picture and fun hoop wall hanging. We love them both. We will be participating in their Spring swap, so we'll post pictures of that later on.

So Dreamy
Lip and Mustache Puff Pillows
How can you not have sweet dreams with these cute little pillows?
SUPPLIES:
scissors, pinking shears, Pellon (wonder-under), Poly
stuffing, marking pen, card stock, felt (black, red, and natural), ribbon, cording (to hang the hearts), iron, and sewing
machine
SEQUENCE:
1. Draw a lip and mustache shape on the card stock and cut
them out to create a pattern of each.
2. Iron Pellon to the black and red felt.
3. Trace the lip and mustache patterns on the red and black
felt respectively.
4. Create a heart pattern by using the same method as step 1
and cut out two heart shapes from the natural felt.
* We ran out of natural felt, so we had to use some scraps
and put them together for this example.
5. Cut out the hearts with pinking shears
6. Sew around the heart a bit in from the edge and leave a small opening to allow for the stuffing.
*Add the cording to the top of the heart before sewing, so it will become inclosed in the heart (we forgot to show this step... sorry!).
7. Iron on the lips and the mustache to one of the hearts.
*We ran out of natural felt, so we just made a tiny version of this step.
8.Stuff the hearts with Poly fill and sew up the hole that was just used to stuff the hearts. Add ribbon and hang on someone you love's door.
*Add some lavender for a soothing scent. Happy Dreaming!

The Seventh Day!
Our super crafty blog friend, Kayla, expressed that she had
a little fringe envy when we posted our pom pom fringe pillows. Well, there will be no more of this envy
because she will soon receive her very own fringe pillow complete with hot
cocoa. Some assembly (stuffing)
required.

Shirt Pillow!

what's not.

Reel Me In!
I think I have officially gone off the deep end. I'm paranoid about Q-tips, my eye twitches, I've ruined about twenty paint brushes, going to bed at 1 am is early, when I finally go to bed I don't sleep because I'm dreaming about scientific terminology, I'm completely confused about English grammar, every time I hear the word Moodle I giggle, and I've written about one hundred pages of notes. Despite all the chaos, I am really enjoying learning all about Speech Pathology! There's a ton of information to take in, but it's so interesting. The other night during our online Elluminate session, the professor mentioned the words, "tissue box ear model" and I was ruined after that. I haven't crafted in what feels like years, but after I heard those four words all I could think about was making models. So the very next day I raided Michaels, trashed my room with paints, stickers, and other crafty things and started making...models, and pillows, and decoupaged boxes, and framed scrapbook pages. I think I just may be a visual learner. I'm still working on the ear model, but I have to put that aside for now because I have to buckle down and get back to the note taking... for now. :)
