The Second Day!

These packages were not mailed, but hand delivered to the teachers I work with and to others who help with the students.  We actually got the idea to do teacher gift baskets from my speech mentor.  In the past, she has made baskets for her classes and fills them with goodies the teacher can use.  Such a great idea!  They were a hit with the teachers and students.
Another fun idea is to take popcorn and tie it with a bow and tag.  On the tag we wrote, "Have a 'sweet' Christmas and a 'popping' New Year!"  Use kettle corn so the "sweet" makes sense.  This idea just came to us while we were grocery shopping and it seemed to be a hit with everyone.  Happy 2013!

School Craft: Valentine's Day

Or as some of my student's say... ValentiMe's Day. :) I love celebrating holidays with my students because they are the ones that make these special occasions so much fun. Each year I pass out handmade Valentines to everyone and this time my mom found the cutest tutorial for origami hearts over at Mollie Makes. Have you heard of Mollie Makes??? It's fairly new, but it's already becoming one of my favorite places for crafty ideas. They have the sweetest projects and these hearts are definitely one of them. I could not stop making these, so I didn't... until I had enough for everyone in my class (and then some).
