This was actually a homework assignment! It's not due until March, but I couldn't wait!

Movember!

Ahhhh.... we missed it, but we’ll be ready next year with little guys. You can make your Movember mugs right here! My SLP BFF and I took a road trip the other day to finally see where and who we go to school with (we take online classes). It’s been a semester and we decided it’s about time we get ID cards, so we could start getting discounts at movie theaters. Really, I think we wanted these just so we could walk around Bakersfield and flash Northridge identification. :) I still think we should have used these mugs for the picture. The whole trip took us about eight hours and we laughed pretty much the whole time. I’m sure people were looking at us and thinking... “These guys are Grad Students???” We had so much fun and met two of our wonderful classmates! I'm so happy and thankful to be a part of this great group!

P.S. We made a flower one too, so it looks like you are smelling the flower! Not as much fun as the mustache ones though.

Organ of Corti???

WRONG!!! I think this should actually be titled Scala Media and the Organ of Corti is in the middle of this model. I initially thought that making models would be a tremendous help, but obviously I'm just confusing myself even more... my bad. :)

Reel Me In!

I think I have officially gone off the deep end. I'm paranoid about Q-tips, my eye twitches, I've ruined about twenty paint brushes, going to bed at 1 am is early, when I finally go to bed I don't sleep because I'm dreaming about scientific terminology, I'm completely confused about English grammar, every time I hear the word Moodle I giggle, and I've written about one hundred pages of notes. Despite all the chaos, I am really enjoying learning all about Speech Pathology! There's a ton of information to take in, but it's so interesting. The other night during our online Elluminate session, the professor mentioned the words, "tissue box ear model" and I was ruined after that. I haven't crafted in what feels like years, but after I heard those four words all I could think about was making models. So the very next day I raided Michaels, trashed my room with paints, stickers, and other crafty things and started making...models, and pillows, and decoupaged boxes, and framed scrapbook pages. I think I just may be a visual learner. I'm still working on the ear model, but I have to put that aside for now because I have to buckle down and get back to the note taking... for now. :)
